How it works

  1. 1

    Prop it up.

Put it somewhere steady, facing the court, then start recording and play.

  2. 2

Tap your watch when a point ends.

Say who won, or answer later.

  3. 3

    Watch it back.

Every point is on the footage, with the score beside it. Drag a point's edges to trim it, and star the good ones.

Full

When you mark the end of a point, we'll find where it started.

After the match, Ralli listens for the sound of the ball and moves the start of each point you marked to where the rally began. It never adds a point you didn't mark, and it runs on your phone.

Where a point starts is a guess from the sound of the ball. It gets most of them right, and you can drag any it does not. It works best away from other games.

Ralli keeps score in four sports, each by its own rules.

Padel

Best of three or five sets, with golden point if you play it.

Tennis

Standard sets, pro sets or Fast4. No-ad if you like, and a deciding set as a tiebreak, a match tiebreak or with advantage.

Table tennis

Games to 11 or 21, best of three, five or seven.

Pickleball

Side-out or rally scoring, singles or doubles, games to 11, 15 or 21.

Change who won a point and every score after it changes with it.

You can also keep no score at all. In Highlights only, a tap marks a highlight.

Review every point on the footage.

Step from point to point. Drag a point's start or end to trim it, add one you missed, remove one you didn't mean, and undo any of it. The score editor fixes the score without touching the video.

The review screen. A 30-second point is open on the footage, Mart won it, and it is starred. The list of points runs underneath.
The score editor. Each point in order with its time, who won it and the score after it. The set stands at 2 to 3.

Make a reel of the good ones, with the score on it.

Star a point and it's in your reel. Put the clips in order, choose where the scoreboard sits and how big it is, or leave it off. The reel saves to Photos.

Your reel: five starred clips, 2 minutes 14 in all, with the scoreboard in the corner of the preview.
The scoreboard settings: include it or not, which corner, what size, the running score or the final score only, and the names.

Use your Apple Watch while you play.

Your phone films the match while you mark the points.

  • Mark a point for either side
  • Star a highlight
  • See the score, and who serves next
  • Undo, pause and resume
  • Save the match to Fitness as a workout, with its length and calories
The watch during a match: 40–30, four games to three in the second set, your serve, with a button for each player.
The watch's second page: who is serving, Undo and Pause.
The watch after the match: 6–4 7–5, 18 points marked, and Finish on phone.

Your matches stay on your phone.

Your video and its sound are saved on your iPhone, and so is the score. You don't need an account. Ralli has no server and uploads nothing you record, though your phone's own backups can include it.

Questions

Do I need a watch?

No. The phone has its own Mark point button. The watch puts the same tap on your wrist, so you don't walk back to the phone.

Can I use a match I've already filmed?

Yes. Import a recording from Photos and mark its points afterwards.

Does it need a signal at the court?

No. Recording, scoring and the reel all work without one.

Is it on Android?

Not yet.
